Hi all, it's almost June.  Guess what!?  I've got my 'arcade' room almost set up, to a point where I can actually sit down in front of my Amigas to play games!!!  I am keen to start up GOTHEM again, and plan to post a couple of new games this weekend!

A600 DF0/DF1 drive swap
« on: February 01, 2020, 04:55:45 pm »
I want to have the best of both worlds - that is using ye olde floppy and my gotek function as DF0 with the least amount of fuss while still being able to access the other drive.  Unfortunately the even CIA is a surface mount component on this system, so it's going to require some minor destruction to make this work compared to say an A500

This thread on Amibay looks like a relatively straight forward approach and the good thing is that it doesn't directly touch custom chips and appears to be somewhat reversible if necessary as it doesn't involve cutting tracks on the PCB (though this would be unlikely to happen)

Before I embark on this adventure though, is there anything else I should consider?
