Wow..  Interesting history.. Chipped in my US$3 for the download version! Sadly I don't think I will do very well, not normally the type of game I do well at (If there are any  :D).

Will be great to try the C64 version on the C64Maxi too!

Thanks for the feedback, since my post, some stuff has arrived - just don't quite have the free time available to do anything with them at the moment.
  • KS/WB 3.1.4
  • Noctua 80mm NF-R8 Redux Edition 1800RPM Fan to try to silence things
  • 50MHz Crystal Oscillator - hopefully this can OC the 030 and 68881 from 16 to 50MHz
Really hoping the SCSI2SD makes it before xmas but obviously there will be enough to keep me occupied (in between the jobs I'm sure the missus will put on my list)

@intangybles - thanks

@quantum8 - you definitely sound like you have gone boldly where I plan to head, glad to have your insights, please share more of your adventures when you have the time and inclination to do so!
  • I would like to take you up on the LED PCB, how do you find it looks with two LEDs side by side instead of the big fellas that used to be there? Photos might not be a good representation of real life I suspect
  • When you say you heatshrunk the cable - is this because you just cut it in place rather than desoldering and removing it altogether and was protecting the cable from shorting against stuff within the case?
  • What kind of heatsinks did you use, were they similar to the adhesive passive things people put on Raspberry Pis?
  • The INT2 mod doesnt look toooo rough as long as I make sure I select the right pins - there seems to be some good sites with photos so I don't think I should stuff it, and its probably the right time to tackle while things are pulled apart in case I get cards down the track that need the capability in place, it's already there!

AGA Game of the Month / December 2020 - Super Skidmarks
« Last post by NinjaKat on December 10, 2020, 10:49:41 am »
AGA Game of the Month for December, 2020, is Super Skidmarks!

This package was suppose to be an upgrade that was due to be released several months after the original SkidMarks was completed (Dec 93).  It was originally intended that we would release a new track editor that would be friendly enough for users to create there own tracks.

Sadly it was not to be and several months later, we decided to simply add another two track disks to the original package. These were completed some 6 months ago.

We then found by using a different sprite system we could have 8 cars with AGA machines and set about redesigning the sprite converter which we are proud to announce has been included in this release for users to add their own cars. With new cars and new tracks we then thought a quick rewrite of the front end was in order. That was 4 months ago.

It may be due to bad management, too many other projects to distract us, general laziness, or just bloody mindedness but SUPER SKIDMARKS is finally finished, we hope it was worth the wait.......

  • Amiga Hardware: AGA (and ECS, CD32)
  • Release Year: 1995
  • Disks: 7
  • WHDLoad: Yes
  • Players: 1 - 4, simultaneous
  • Publisher: Acid Software

Please refer to the 'Game of the Month Rules and Participation' post for information on how to participate!  Good Luck!

* To qualify for the game of the month, you must play single player, 'Match Race', 4 laps, first track (shaped like a figure 8), and must be played using the AGA or CD32 version.  Let us know your best time for the 4 laps on track one.  Good luck and enjoy!

The voltage mod is very easy. I cut the jumper (and heatshrunk the cable) when replacing the fan and it works great on 240v.

I also recently replaced the oscillator and put heatsink on the CPU and fpu and now have it running at 25mhz nicely.

Also look at doing the INT2 mod.

I'll share my info from my journey with a 3000d 16 when I get home from holidays.

Oh and I have some LED pcbs if you want one too. Just need to order the 4 LEDs to populate the board as the original size ones are no longer made.
