The pixel art for all 18 levels was completed last month (June), as was the majority of the music tracks.  Now in July, level design is well underway.  Things are progressing very nicely, and the Neo Geo version is on schedule to be completed by December 2025 as planned.  It was confirmed a couple of months ago that the Neo Geo digital version is compatible with NeoSD PRO, as the developer is personally testing the game with it throughout development.

The campaign is currently at £109K in pledges.  It needs to reach £120K to unlock the six mini bosses.  Please make a pledge so that you can join in the fun.  In addition to the Neo Geo version, you can also back the versions for these other platforms: Sega Genesis / Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox, and Switch.

Visit the campaign page:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jkmcorp/shadow-gangs-zero

Reminder:  All backers will have their names displayed on the credits screen accessible from the main menu, as well as on the end-game screens.

Also:  Backers of the physical versions for Neo Geo, Genesis / MD, and Dreamcast will receive the corresponding digital versions for free!

C64 Forever / Re: Vision BASIC v1.1 - Major Update - Commodore 64 Compiler !
« Last post by Marcio D. on July 25, 2025, 02:49:59 am »
Thanks for all the info, its more the fact that I got rid of all my C64 gear some years ago (only have a TheC64 now), not really a platform I work with much but I do use and have been returning to compiled basic  with the intent of porting my old CB80 BBS from the mid 80's - recently discovered backup!

Some folks thumb their noses up at the mention of THEC64, but I personally love that product for what it is.  I've got a Maxi and several Minis, and they're great.

Are you aware of the new C64 Ultimate?  They've already taken pre-orders of close to 6,000 units in the past couple of weeks.  What are your thoughts on it?

Still not had a chance to look at this! I do very little with the C64... But I must have a look!

If you do very little with the C64 because you're not really into playing games made by others, Vision BASIC could change all that.  It's the ultimate BASIC development system for the C64 when it comes to natively programming on the machine.  There are so many delightful features to explore, making you feel like you've entered a wonderland of 8-bit programming.

I recommend the 1.1 Basic Package or the 1.1+ NeoRAM Package, as they include a strong high-quality product box to hold the manual and other items (disk, USB drive, cartridge).  The box looks fantastic on a shelf alongside other retrocomputing books and software.  If you're on a tight budget, the 1.1e (Manual + Digital) Package can't be beat, as it offers free shipping to anywhere in the world.

You're going to have a blast participating in the private forum, where you get to learn/teach/grow with other intellectuals who are on similar paths of discovery and mastery.

If you do decide to take the plunge, hope you come back here to tell us about your experience!

« Last post by NinjaKat on July 06, 2025, 08:27:06 am »
Apologies for the delayed start to GOTHEM this month everyone!

This looks to be a good one!  I had a quick go last night, so I'll put up my early score.

Scored 820 on my A1200, CDTV version, beginner difficulty.

Game of the Month for July 2025: Fantastic Voyage (CDTV)

Picked from a random selection from the fantastic Amiga Game Selector!

Fantastic Voyage is a science fiction game composed of 3 levels. You must make your way through the body to the brain and remove the blood clot which threatens the life of your patient. Along the way, you must find nine different pieces of a circuit board which you’ll need to make your laser operate in the brain.

During your voyage you will encounter numerous obstacles. The body sees you as a foreign invader, an intruder which must be destroyed. You’ll have your hands full defending yourself from the body’s natural defenses.

In order to get maximum fun and excitement from Fantastic Voyage, we strongly recommend that you play the game in a darkened room with the contrast control of your TV set to high. Pump up the volume and turn out the lights!
