It was very 'smart' of the random picked game from AGS this month, with the Australian Open tennis event coming up.  The GOTHEM for January is 'Advantage Tennis'!  a great old tennis game! Have fun!

The core campaign ended on September 14, 2024 and was a smashing success.  Not only was the project fully funded, but it also surpassed the stretch goal for having the female ninja included as a playable character!

Due to extremely strong demand, the developer has decided to accept Late Pledges for those who missed out during the core campaign.  Here's the exciting part... The project is only £2,000 away from reaching the next stretch goal:  2-player co-operative gameplay.  This will be a revolutionary feature, as none of the arcade and console Shinobi games had this 2-player simultaneous gameplay.

GOTHEM - Game Of THE Month / Game of the Month - Rules and Participation
« Last post by NinjaKat on October 10, 2024, 06:24:12 pm »
The ARBF Game of the Month (GOTHEM) is really just an excuse to focus on a great Amiga game for a month!  Here are some points to be aware of before participating:
  • Games will be selected by ARBF Administrators.
  • If you have a favourite game you wish to be added to a GOTHEM, let us know by posting a reply to the 'Game Requests' forum topic!
  • Real Amigas are preferred, but Emulators are also allowed (after all it is all about the games!).  If you are using an emulator (or a real Amiga) you must not use cheats, save states, rewinds, fast forwarding, or any other advantage made available by the emulator that is not a built in feature of the game being played.  Let's just all play fair.
  • Submissions should be made directly to the GOTHEM forum post, or as an email (see below), as the user submitting the score. Include your score in your post.  Include a screenshot (note there are image size limitations on the forum posts - so if you are not sure how to resize, send your hiscore as an email (see below)).  Your submission should also include verification of any per-game rules (eg Single Player, XYZ mode), and the Amiga (or Emulator) model, and operating system.  Examples could be Amiga 1200/WB3.1.4, OR Raspberry Pi/Amiberry 3.0.11.
  • At the end of each month, the top 3 high-scorers, and/or the top 3 reviews, will get a special mention, and the TOP scorer will receive a special BADGE!
  • Using cheats is not allowed.  Cheats (in game codes, cracks, or though WHDLoad) are unfair to others that do not use them.  We will not know if you have used a cheat, so this is really an honesty system here.  Let's play fair!
  • High scores should be captured as a screenshot or photo, and game reviews supplied in plain text and emailed to gothem@amigaretro.com after midnight on the 1st of the month and before midnight on the last day of the month to be eligible!
DISCLAIMER: Game rom files and WHDLoad installations may be used if they are a backup of a legally owned version of that game.  While emulation itself is a completely legal way to play games, and emulators are a vital (often open-source and volunteer-produced) aspect of the ongoing conservation of aging games - software piracy is illegal in Australia, and some other countries. Therefore, we here at Amiga Retro Brisbane DO NOT condone piracy in any way.

Game of the Month for October 2024: Sneech

Sneech, in the simplest terms is the game Snake mixed with Tron (the light cycles part ), but taken to new levels. Powerups, enemies, etc. It's great! This is one of the better known Paul Burkey games. Unlike other AMOS games, this one is actually playable and addictive!

Information:
  • Amiga Hardware: OCS
  • Relase Year: 1994
  • Disks: 3
  • WHDLoad: Yes
  • Players: 1 to 6, Simultaneous
  • Publisher: Paul Burkey
  • Developer: Daisy Software

Links to game information:

Please refer to the 'Game of the Month Rules and Participation' post for information on how to participate!  Good Luck!

* To qualify: play on any real Amiga or equivalent emulator. Use default 4 cpu players ( mr. Grey, pink, green, white), leave everything else default.  Play one round and then get your screenshot of the pts column. As per the GOTHEM rules, please confirm the machine/emulator you used, your score, screenshot/photo with score shown.  If the game does not keep score, please let us know where you got up to (without spoilers) with a brief review of your time with the game.  Also state any additional qualification rules stated above, such as playing on a certain mode with certain rules, just so we have a better feeling that you are playing fairly!

AGA Game of the Month / Re: September 2024 - Blake Stone: Aliens Of Gold

I decided to play a bit more from my last saved game, and found some more stuff I'd missed on earlier levels.  I again played on the required difficulty level two - skilled agent.

I cracked the 5 Million score and then stopped.  ;D

My Final Score: 5005155

Played on my A1200 PiStorm32, no keys, passwords or cheats were used.

Well, I got it installed on my A1200, MiSTeR and the V4SA!

I wanted to see how it would go on the VS4, ran well but locked up every time I died!

Oh, Well.. Just in case I don't get a chance to have another go on the MiSTeR I'll post what I have on the V4SA.

I got about 25000isg before I discovered the lockup, so the best I can register is 15150 which was the save prior.

Played on my VS4SA, 'Skilled Agent' difficulty, starting level/mission 1.  No passwords or cheats were used.
