Title: Does anyone run AmigaOS4 on a Classic Amiga?
Post by: intangybles on August 19, 2020, 02:10:31 pm
With all the recent discussion we had on the forum about the "Tabor" etc and Amiga OS4 (Which I am starting to play with for the first time) I was wondering is anyone was running it on real classic hardware? ie; with a PowerPC card?

Just purchased a 603@240Mhz / 060@50Mhz Blizzard PPC card so hoping to get more into OS4 on classic machines.

Will likely run a dual boot, or swap SD cards with OS3.2

That was always my dream! to Run a PowerPC Amiga! Never did get there!

I do own a copy of OS4 (FE) that I have run on the Emulator - various - but Have never put in the time to learn about it!

Its been on the "I'll get to it list" for a long time!

I'll be sure to bring the 1200 with Blizzard 1260 PPC & Blizzard Vision to the next meet in February!

You can check it out then, see what you think

I think the PPC works better with OS3x stuff as it's a 603 in the Blizzard 1260. OS4 on the X5000 is a better experience, but all the same it's fun to run on classic hardware
