Last minute entry.  Wow, what a great platformer.  I wish I had a better controller for this one!  Got to the third level with 52800 (a bit more but that was my screenshot score at the time), on my A1200.

OCS/ECS Game of the Month for June 2021, is Chuck Rock!

Chuck Rock is a prehistoric platformer created by Core Design for the Amiga and released in 1991. The same year it was released for the Atari ST.

The game is in no way meant to be true to the Stone Age, as dinosaurs and humans populate the Earth together in this, silly side-scroller. Chuck himself is the crass and brutish lead vocalist of a local rock band and becomes the target of a jealous rival who abducts his babelicious girlfriend. In order to get her back, Chuck must use his rock throwing skills and generous dinosaur steak gut to thwart his enemies. Chuck must travel across varied lands, solve a few puzzles, and defeat enemies on his journey to save his girl. He can also find a few friendly dinos to help him out along the way. Bright, cartoonish graphics complement the playfully absurd antics of our caveman hero and add to the fun.

Information:
  • Amiga Hardware: OCS/ECS
  • Release Year: 1992
  • Disks: 2
  • WHDLoad: Yes
  • Players: 1
  • Publisher: Core Design
  • Developer: Core Design

AGA Game of the Month / June 2021 - Fightin' Spirit
« Last post by NinjaKat on May 31, 2021, 07:02:19 pm »
AGA Game of the Month for June 2021, is Fightin' Spirit!

Fightin' Spirit is a beat'em up created by the Italian studio Light Shock Software and released in 1996 for the Amiga ECS and AGA models and the CD32.

This one-vs-one fighting game was featuring 10 different characters, each one with different features and special moves, beautiful backgrounds, and excellent animations and audio effects. The game received positive reviews from the magazines, and many considered it the best Street Fighter II-like beat'em up ever created for the Amiga.

It was a pity that the game arrived too late, when the Amiga was already declining, otherwise it could have been the hit that the Amiga AGA models were desperately waiting for.

Information:
  • Amiga Hardware: AGA, CD32, OCS/ECS
  • Release Year: 1996
  • Disks: 5
  • WHDLoad: Yes
  • Players: 1 or 2, Simultaneous
  • Publisher: neo Software Produktions
  • Developer: Light Shock Software

Links to game information:

Please refer to the 'Game of the Month Rules and Participation' post for information on how to participate!  Good Luck!

* To qualify for the game of the month, play the AGA or CD32 version, normal difficulty, 3 rounds, 1 continue, 90 second rounds, normal speed, standard/normal game mode, with KENTO!  Make sure you take a screenshot with Kento as your player.

Good luck and have fun!

A Forum starter to get discussion growing...

What are you currently spending time on?

Personally I am going down the path of Replacing CD32 SMD electrolytic capacitor's, at an early stage so far.

Hi,

I'm currently working on lashing an A1200 into a MIDI music setup. The hardest part is configuring a patch board to route audio FX signals in a semi-modular way. I use Bars&Pipes to run the MIDI end. B&P runs rock solid on a stock A500.

I have a (mumble mumble) accelerator card. The accelerator is there for when I want to compile code. It's got 64MB of RAM (-0.5MB for copying system stuff) which is overkill in any man's language.

I get freaked out about digging around the insides of electronics so I don't have any anecdotes about that.

I hope you're all doing well!

I've played this quite a bit on the Amiga and was pretty impressed with it.
