Hi All,
I am looking for a working hard disk expansion for the Amiga 1000. Ideally SCSI supporting autoboot, but if floppy based boot then that is ok too.
Basically I want to have a hard disk on my A1000.. :-)
I did use ACA500 on it before with Kickstart and CF card booting, etc, but it is flaky and only works every 20-25 times you power on the A1000:

I read that 520 accelerator might be an option too, when it is in stock I might get one...

EDIT: Thinking about it, I upgraded the firmware on the ACA500 since I tried it on the A1000. Might be worth trying it again, now that I run the Vampire 500v2 on my A500 (in Checkmate A1500 Plus case)..hmmm.

A couple of weeks ago, 10MARC had the 520 in for review. using it with his A1000. It was a very good match and a great review. It seems like the way to go

Looks good. Just have to wait for it to be in stock again so I can get one!

As an update, I did put the updated firmware ACA500 on my A1000 just before Xmas and it works much better now. I have setup a wb1.3 bootable hd on it and quite happy with it.

Great news!
In hindsight, my A1000 is my saddest loss! of my own (happy) doing at the time! I sold it after buying my first A2000 (that I still have).. Loved the A1000 - Classic Machine - wish I had never parted with it!
