retro computing Brisbane
« on: March 13, 2022, 09:11:12 pm »
Hi all,

I'm looking for people based in Brisbane that are interested in retro computing, specifically building your own hardware / software.

Perhaps, like me, you grew up with a C64, ZX Spectrum, BBC, Apple 2 and look back and say "how did they do that" or "can I make my own". Maybe you wrote some assembler or BASIC back in the day and would like to relive those days.

I had a massive Apple 2 collection, but gave it away some 25+ years ago. I thought about buying one but decided that it would be expensive and perhaps not practical.

I've always had the idea of building a 6502 / Z80 based computer and I finally bit the bullet and started a few years ago.
I now have a substantial 6502 based motherboard based on a mixture of old (obsolete) and new parts. The 6502 and support chips is still manufactured today.

I've been coding in both assembler and C thanks to the CC65 compiler for the 6502.

If this is something that interests anyone here please make contact.

Thanks
Andre
