October 2025 - Ditris
« on: October 06, 2025, 07:40:44 am »
Game of the Month for October 2025: Ditris

Picked from a random selection from the fantastic Amiga Game Selector!

Ditris is a straight Tetris variant without gameplay additions besides a split-screen multiplayer mode. Differently shaped blocks fall from the top of the screen and can be turned and moved left and right on the way to the bottom. The goal is to create full horizontal lines which vaporize after completion: more lines at once reward more points for the high score. The next block is shown in a preview screen and the game is over when a block can't fall far enough to leave the top of the screen.

Information:
  • Amiga Hardware: OCS
  • Relase Year: 1990
  • Disks: 1
  • WHDLoad: Yes
  • Players: 1 or 2
  • Publisher: Magic Soft
  • Developer:Thomas Münch

Please refer to the 'Game of the Month Rules and Participation' post for information on how to participate!  Good Luck!

* To qualify: Play single player, on any real Amiga or equivalent emulator.  The winner will be the player with the best score.

As per the GOTHEM rules, please confirm the qualification rules in green above, the machine/emulator you used, your score, screenshot/photo with score shown, and confirm you have not used cheats or passwords.  If the game does not keep score, please let us know where you got up to (without spoilers) with a brief review of your time with the game.  Also state any additional qualification rules stated above, such as playing on a certain mode with certain rules, just so we have a better feeling that you are playing fairly!

Well.. its fast.. or is it just me! Do much better with Tetris normally...  Joystick type controls.. not good for me in this case!

All done as "the green" instructions!

Best is: 2321 (21 Lines)..

Well done mate!  Best I could manage was 1098 and 6 lines.  Yep sure is fast.  At first I thought I had to line up colours but there are a lot of variation, then I realised you can line up any colour to remove a row.. oh well, hope to put more time in next month.

No cheats or passwords played on my A1200

Thank you! Wow! Amazed myself! I was sure that would be the worst score ever!
